Caregiver/Worker Application Process
How long does the application process take for my Caregiver/Worker?Completing all applications takes about 1 hour, depending on the number of questions the Caregiver/Worker has. Your worker can complete the employment forms electronically or in person at the local office. The Caregiver/Worker has to meet all of the following requirements to be enrolled as an individual PCA and before providing services:
- Be 16 years of age or older
- Be employed by a PCA provider agency
- Successful completion of the Individual PCA Training requirements
- Cannot be on the MHCP Enrolled Provider Excluded Provider Lists as an excluded individual provider
- Clear a background study from DHS Licensing through NETStudy
- Wait to receive notice from DHS Licensing that the person is one of the following before being allowed to begin work as an individual PCA provider:
- Not disqualified or
- Has a set-aside to the disqualification
16 years old.
Background Study & Licensing
How long does a Background Study take?It all depends on how long it takes DHS to process your study. We’ve seen it as fast as 1 day to 3 months.
Types of Services Offered
What services do Asian-American Home Health Care Services, Inc. offer?- Personal Care Assistance (PCA)
- Homemaking
- Night Supervision
The services you need will depend on your needs and assessment with the assessor. A home visit by an assessor will assess your everyday requirements and health status. The assessor will complete the PCA Assessment and Service Plan throughout this assessment. The assessment takes about one hour.
The assessment includes questions:
- About the types of help you need on an average day
- About your behavior
- About your health
- About your medication
- To see if you need a responsible party
Getting Started with Services
How do I get PCA/Homemaking started?Depending on what health care program you are with, initial assessments are completed differently. Please call the office for further assistance.
How do I transfer my service(s) to Asian American HHCSI?Complete the “Make a Referral” online form on our website and wait for an office representative to reach out or call the office for assistance.
Changing Caregivers
How do I change Caregivers?Inform the office that you have a new caregiver who will be replacing the current caregiver. Provide new caregiver’s contacts to an office representative.
