Founder, William Vang is a survivor of The Secret War in Laos. He immigrated to the United States in 1979 and started his first business in 1997, an employment service agency. Through the employment service agency, Vang was able to work with all ethnicities the Twin Cities had to offer. It was then he discovered that he wasn’t alone, and others were going through the same obstacles, language and culture barrier for the elders. He experienced a high turnover rate in certain age groups because his employees had to quit their jobs to stay home and care for their elders. Communication and cultural understanding were not there in nursing facilities, which made it difficult for the elders to transition. In 2003, Vang founded Asian-American Home Health Care Services, a home health care that provides assistance and support for persons with disabilities, living independently in the community. His purpose is to help clients within our diverse ethnic community who have difficulty with activities of daily living gain their independence by providing well-qualified, short-term, and long-term care in the comfort of their own homes, languages, and cultures. Today, AAHHCSI is an ethical, honest, and reliable agency that provides top-quality personal care assistance. Asian-American Home Health Care Services currently provides services throughout the state of Minnesota and welcomes all major public and private health insurance.
